Student Services

Direct Services

You select the subject: Language Arts Reading, Language Arts Writing or Math. After an initial consultation to determine your child's current level Sevi's Smile will create activities and deliver Virtual Tutoring Sessions to enhance your child's learning level.

Student virtual sessions are 30- minutes and may require the support of an adult to assist the child in accessing the technology and engagement required during a virtual session.

Sessions to teach use of the system and set goals for independence are available as part of this service.

Academic and Inclusion Assessments (IEE)

Standardized assessments often do not, by their very nature, show a complete picture of a child's abilities. Academic and Inclusion Assessments using non- standard means that allow a more complete picture of a child's abilities to be determined, focusing on strengths to support ongoing needs, are available.

Various methods will be implemented to develop a written plan that will include assessment results, areas of strength and identified need, as well as a list of recommendations for IEP team consideration, following a strengths- based approach and in- line with the law, research and recommended practice.

Parent Services

Parent Coaching Consultations

Sevi's Smile offers support and information to guide and empower you to navigate systems of support for your child's learning needs.

This services may include parent collaboration, document review, and limited IEP attendance. As part of the document review process, Sevi's Smile will review your child's IEP and make recommendations in support of you working with your IEP team to create a truly individualized IEP document, that avoids common pitfalls in IEP development.

Educational Supports for Parents

Are you Home- Schooling or do you want to give your child extra support in a given content area? Sevi's Smile offers specialized instructional programs for students with Down syndrome and working memory challenges.

Allows Parents/ Caregivers to sign-up for a 30-minute online session of support generating ideas to address ongoing educational goals for students who learn differently in a variety of subject areas. Time may need to be spent outside of the session to support learning targets.

Educator Services

Professional Learning Opportunities

Sevi's Smile delivers presentations on various topics customized to your organization's individual needs. Traditional group Professional Development opportunities are available, in- person, virtually, or pre- taped content. Contact Sevi's Smile for a list of presentations or discuss how content can be adapted for your specific District's or organization's culture.

Ongoing Professional Coaching Packages, including targeted Professional Development and ongoing professional coaching is also available.

Inclusion Specialist Support

Sevi's Smile uses a unique approach of providing support not to modify content, but to meet each student at their unique access point and create support strategies to bridge their current abilities to core content that may be impacting access to key areas of the curriculum.

This leads to increases in meaningful participation with classroom content and keeps the focus on strengths- based learning at the center of each interaction. Steps to independence is also considered in each opportunity. Services are provided by a credentialed teacher.
